IRA HEAR Rebates - Up to $8,000 for Heat Pumps
The Home Electrification and Appliance Rebate (HEAR) program offers up to $8,000 for heat pumps and up to $14,000 in total rebates, including upgrades like electrical panels. The program is geared towards low and moderate income households.
Low-income households (below 80% AMI*) qualify for a rebate covering 100% of the project cost, up to a cap of $8,000.
Moderate-income households (80%-150% AMI) can receive 50% of the cost, up to a cap of $8,000. This means to claim the full rebate, moderate-income homeowners must spend at least $16,000.
Eligibility is capped at 150% AMI, and the rebate cannot be used for replacing an existing heat pump.
