“Greening Up” the Home
Matthew and Sama installed a Bosch heat pump to replace their central air conditioner in order to “green up” their home.
E-Den: Why did you decide to install a heat pump in your home?
Matthew: We purchased our home a little over a year ago and were thinking about a heat pump as a way to “green up” the home. We researched a number of options including solar panels, windows, insulation, and of course HVAC. Sama did the math and I think a heat pump is the same carbon impact as taking a car off the road, so ultimately a heat pump seemed like a solid investment that would make a good impact.
E-Den: Tell us about your experience working with E-Den
Matthew: It was easy to trust that E-Den was providing the right product at a fair price point, so making the decision to move forward was effortless. I appreciated the fact that E-Den provided a bunch of information and details about the system, including items that I hadn’t even thought about while researching heat pumps. In terms of the installation, the crew showed up on time and they were efficient, polite, and considerate. It was a great experience.
E-Den: What are your plans for future projects to the home?
Matthew: Our home was built in 1922, so it turned 100 years old this year! Now that we have a heat pump installed, next on our list is an electric vehicle, followed by solar panels. We’ll probably tackle the projects over a few years. It will be nice to do solar panels after getting a heat pump and electric vehicle, since we will know what our electricity usage is, which means that we will be able to properly size our solar system. We may do some insulation work as well, since the upstairs gets hot in the summer and chilly in the winter.
